Fender Mustang LTX Firmware Update Instructions 

 Display the installed firmware version by selecting About in the Menu on Mustang™ LTX.

Release Notes:

  • Fixes
    • Changing the preset mode over from the Tone app now syncs to the footswitch
    • The preset is reloaded after a new preset is saved to the current preset index through Tone
    • Amp no longer freezes when changing the amp/effect via Tone while at the bottom of a long parameter list on the parameter page
    • USB Audio now delivers correct right and left channel audio data, instead of copying right channel data to both channels
    • Processor utilization improvements to prevent UI lag in certain high processing preset configurations
    • Communication / connecting to Fender Tone no longer causes USB interruptions

Firmware Update Instructions

  1. Turn the amp off
  2. Download and install the Fender Device Manager app
    1. Windows version: Download
    2. Mac Version: Download
  3. Open the Fender Device Manager app
    1. On a Mac computer, click Allow in the "Allow Device Manager to connect to devices on the local network” prompt
  4. Connect the amp to a computer with a USB cable
  5. Open the Device Manager app and click the Select button for Mustang LTX
  6. Press and hold the Firmware Update button on the back of the amp (near the USB-C port) while turning on the power switch
    1. You should see an Update button in Fender Device Manager
    2. The red LED next to the firmware update button should be blinking
  7. Click the Update button in Fender Device Manager
  8. Select Yes in the next prompt to start the update
    1. The update will take several minutes. Wait for Fender Device Manager to display the update is complete before disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the amp
  9. When you see the “Firmware has updated successfully” message,
    1. Turn the amp off
    2. Wait for the red LED next to the firmware update button on the back of the amp to stop blinking
    3. Turn the amp on again
  10. The firmware update process is now complete.

  1. a. The update will take several minutes. Wait for Fender Device Manager to tell you the update is complete before disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the amp 

  1. 8. When you see the “Firmware has updated successfully” message,  

  1. a. Turn the amp off 

  1. b. Wait for the red LED next to the firmware update button on the back of the amp to stop blinking  

  1. c. Turn the amp on again 

  1. 9. The firmware update process is now complete.
