Fender Mustang™ Micro Plus Firmware Update Instructions

 

Display the installed firmware version by connecting Mustang™ Micro Plus to the Fender Tone® app and selecting About in the Settings Menu. Fender Tone® is available for iOS and ANDROID devices.

Firmware Update Instructions

  1. Turn the Micro Plus off
  2. Download and install the Fender Device Manager app
    1. Windows version: Download
    2. Mac Version: Download
  3. Open the Fender Device Manager App
    1. On a Mac computer, click “Allow” in the "Allow Device Manager to connect to devices on the local network” prompt
  4.  Click the Select button for the Micro Plus
  5. Put the Micro Plus into firmware update mode: 
    1. Turn the Micro Plus off
    2. Press and hold the Preset “-” button and turn the power switch on
      1. You should see an Update button in Device Manager 
      2. The LED next to the power switch should be GREEN and flashing
  6. Click the Update button in Device Manager
  7. Select “Yes” in the next prompt to start the update
    1. The update will take several minutes. Wait for Device Manager to tell you the update is complete before disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the Micro Plus
  8. When you see the “The firmware has been updated successfully” message, 
    1. Turn the Micro Plus off
    2. Unplug the USB cable
    3. Turn the Micro Plus on again
  9. The firmware update process is now complete.
 

Adding Bass Guitar Factory Presets for Mustang™ Micro Plus

WARNING: Updating Factory Presets will reset all presets to their original factory state, If you have any presets you would like to keep, upload them to the Cloud before proceeding. You can download them from the Cloud after updating the factory presets.
 
  1. Turn off the Micro Plus
  2. Press and hold the Tap and Save button while turning on the power switch
    1. The screen on the Micro Plus should show “Presets Reset, Please Wait”
    2. DO NOT TURN OFF the Micro Plus until the process is complete
  3. Once the update is complete, the Micro Plus will reboot, and then it will be ready to use.
